We spent a full day going from one rooftop to another and created our list of our favorite New York City rooftops. Instead of spending money on visiting the Top of Rock, One World Observatory, Edge or the Empire State Building, you can get great views from rooftop bars and lounges. I can’t think of a better place to drink a cocktail than on a rooftop overlooking the bright lights of New York City.

With great views of the city and the Empire State Building, the 230 Fifth rooftop is a must!
Mr. Purple offers amazing city views. It’s the place to be if you love a great ambiance and good music. The rooftop even has a pool you can use.
Salon de Ning at The Peninsula
On the 23rd floor at the Peninsula is the Salon de Ning; a 1930 Shanghai decor scheme lounge. It’s has amazing views of New York City.
Located on 57th Street at the Meridian hotel, The Roof is a great place to take in views of city while drinking a cocktail.
SuperNova at the Novotel Times Square
If you’re looking to see the bright lights of Times Square, there is no better place than at the SuperNova.
Spyglass Rooftop Bar at the Anchor hotel
There is no better place to see views of the Empire State Building than at the Spyglass Rooftop Bar at the Anchor hotel.
cloudM at the Browery Hotel
Rooftops in midtown are amazing since you really feel connected to the city. Having said that, you can take a few steps away from Midtown to see an amazing views of the financial district from the cloudM rooftop. You get unobstructed views of the beautiful One World Observatory and it’s surrounding skyscrapers.

Haven Rooftop Bar at the Sanctuary hotel
If you’re looking for a rooftop bar with great music and views of Times Square, the Haven Rooftop Bar won’t disappoint. Is there a better place to be than on a rooftop bar having a drink overlooking Time Square while the DJ spins great music? I didn’t think so.
